Fourth of July Hats As a Symbol of Independence By David Lawson

Uncle Sam is the national personification of the United States. He's typically dressed in red and white striped trousers, blue tailcoat jacket, and a top hat with red and white stripes. He came to light when a famous cartoonist introduced him calling for new recruits during World War I.

The famous 4th of July hats are reproductions of Uncle Sam's hat that symbolizes the great power and patriotism of the United States. There are several July 4th hats to choose from that may vary depending on where you are planning to wear it.

Velour Fourth of July hats made with five blinking stars are ideal for a night time parade. The blinking lights are sure to blend into the merriment and its height of 8 inches is sure to stand out in the crowd. While a slightly oversized Uncle Sam top hat is excellent for Fourth of July parties and political events. Paper Uncle Sam top hats, on the other hand, are usually used on political campaigns or parades that require uniformity.

There are even July 4th hats specifically designed for cowboys. They are great for parades or rodeos and are made with adjustable velcro tabs on the inside. They are slightly shorter than the usual 4th of July hats, as they are patterned more on the cowboy hat than on the top hat.

Fourth of July hats are more than costumes worn on Independence Day. They have become the symbol of Independence itself. No patriotic celebration is complete without the presence of these red, white, and blue top hats.

Patriotic Costumes For the Fourth of July By David Lawson

Independence Day in the United States is celebrated with parades, fireworks and parties. These Fourth of July parties are usually themed and would require attendees to come in costumes. And many people use these venues to showcase their patriotism.

There are several ways to show patriotism on these costume parties and parades. The internet alone can give you a handful of ideas for patriotic costumes. You can come as Uncle Sam, Statue of Liberty or Betsy Ross.

President costumes are also good patriotic outfits that you may want to look into. There are several variations for this theme. The most common are Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and of course Barack Obama. Most of these patriotic costumes come in full regalia -- from the suit to wigs, hats or masks.

You can also express your love for the country by donning an Uncle Sam costume or an American flag inspired outfit. For the ladies, there are full length dresses or sexy ensembles inspired by the flag. Or better yet, you can be the Statue of Liberty, complete with the headpiece and torch. You can also wear a patriotic cheerleader outfit. It is usually a red dress with red, white and blue detailing and usually comes with one pompom. This simple get-up lets you express your patriotism without cramping your style.

Holiday celebrations are not just for merriment. They could also be venues for expressing your devotion to your country. Donning patriotic outfits on these occasions is a great reflection of Americans' sense of nationalism and support to the flag that they have pledged allegiance to.
